OBJECTIVES MEASURABLE OUTCOMES STATUS
Conduct surveys and gather and evaluate data from MDE, the City, and the County that show existing bacteria and toxics levels and sources. A comprehensive report with a quantitative understanding of the bacteria and toxics impacting the Middle Branch.  
Manage Floating Debris: Conduct a systematicrandom-based survey of the watershed to identify hot-spots and types of trash. Bacteria TMDL. Complete.

Present evidence to MDE to get the Harbor and the Middle Branch listed as impaired by trash. The Inner Harbor and Middle Branch given "impaired status for trash by MDE. Complete: the Middle Branch has been listed as "trash impaired."  It will now take 2 years to develop TMDL for trash for City and County, and another 10 years to fully implement.
Construct additional trash interceptors where appropriate and direct street sweeping programs to high trash streets. Reduced levels of trash in the Middle Branch. MD Port Authority providing funds to construct trash interceptors.  An enclosed trash interceptor (not visible from the street) is being designed for Bush Street.
Step-up efforts to meet the requirements of the City's NPDES permit-fund, construct new BMP's, and restore streams in the watershed. Improved water quality and restoration of degraded watersheds.  
Implement the US Army Corps of Engineers Tidal Branch Restoration Plan (MBRP) and the Patapsco Urban River Restoration Initiative (PURRI) MBRP and PURRI are in full effect and are improving the region.  On hold.
