OBJECTIVE MEASURABLE OBJECTIVES STATUS
Create an education campaign on the imnpact of trash on neighborhoods and wildlife. Greater citizen understanding of trash; Reduced environmental impact from trash.  
Support the proposed Maryland Bottle Bill. Helps to reduce floating trash in the Middle Branch by up to 50%. Bottle Bill viewed as a longshot at this point.
Incorporate advanced storm water treatment techniques in all redevelopment projects with a goal to treat 100% of pollution in stormwater. Reductions of trash and pollutants in the Middle Branch.  
Retrofit existing developments with Best Management Practices. Reductions of trash and pollutants in the Middle Branch.  
Require a 100' wide green buffer around the Middle branch shoreline. Request bufer creation or mitigation on all waterfront development projects. Currently required; enforcement ongoing.
Develop a comprehensive planting, maintenance, and invasive species control plan to revetate barren areas. Improved habitat and aesthetic value from formerly barren areas.  
Enforce Critical Area regulations in Designated Habitat Protection Areas, Resource Conservation Areas, and the 100' Buffer Existing and new zoning enforced consistently and according to the vision of CA program. Enforcement ongoing.
Seek innovative funding sources for habitat restoration, including incentives to create new habitat and marsh areas adjacent to private development Additional funds located to restore and maintain the habitat in the Middle Branch and its watershed. Stimulus funding awarded for habitat restoration adjacent to Westport Waterfront development.
